The Philippine Tuberculosis Society, Inc, (PTSI) is a pioneering institution in the country's effort at TB prevention, control and treatment. It is a non-government, non-stock, non-profit organization that has been engaged in the struggle against this dreaded disease since 1910.
To date PTSI thru its Field Operations Division, is operating provincial clinics, spread all over the country.
Is in urgent need of applicants for the position of:
MEDICAL TECHNOLOGIST
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Responsible in the collection, smearing, staining and microscopic reading of sputum specimen for diagnosis and follow-up
2. Submit the results of the sputum smear examination to the clinic nurse
3. Maintain and update the NTP Laboratory register
4. Conducts health education in the clinic and in the community in the absence of the nurse
5. Prepares the quarterly report on laboratory activities and submits to the Branch Manager/ Officer in-charge
6. Prepares the requisition for the laboratory
7. Responsible for the maintenance of the laboratory unit
8. Submit all slides to the provincial or city NTP coordinator for quarterly quality assurance check.
Requirements:
- Male or Female Licensed Medical Technologist
- Single/ Married
- Can work effectively without close supervision
- Must be willing to learn and be trained
- Must be responsible and hardworking
- Training on Direct Sputum Smear Microscopy is a plus
-Preferably with experience in a hospital setting
-With excellent health
-Must have knowledge in computer

REGISTERED NURSE
Reporting to the Branch Manager, the job holder is responsible:
1. Coordinating the services of the clinic with other allied agencies
2. Preparing and submitting monthly, quarterly and annual accomplishment reports to the Branch manager
3. Conducting health information dissemination to barangays, schools and other organizations.
4. Monitoring the treatment of the patients on daily basis.
5. Motivating TB patients for treatment and following up of defaulters.
6. Assigning and supervising a treatment partner for patients who will undergo DOTS
7. Maintaining and updating the NTP TB Register, NTP Tb Symptomatic Masterlist
8. Facilitating the requisition and distribution of drugs and other NTP supplies
9. Managing the procedures of case finding activities with other NTP stall. workers.
10. Providing continuous health and community participation in TB control
11. Preparing and submitting the quarterly reports to PHO/CHO. Analyze the data together with the MHO/CHO for future planning activity.
Position requirements:
- Male/ Female Licensed Nurse
- Good interpersonal skills
- Good communication skills both English and the local dialect
-a team player
- Must be computer literate
-With experience working in a hospital and community setting, Those with TB DOTS training will be an advantage

4. Assists the doctor during the x-ray interpretation in the absence of the clerk
5. Responsible in filing the films both the radiography and photofluorography
6. Records/ reports daily and monthly the x-ray examinations
7. Responsible in the maintenance of the x-ray unit
8. Performs other duties that may be assigned by the Branch Manager/ Officer-in-charge
Qualifications:
-Male or Female Licensed Radiologic Technologist
-Single/Married
-can work effectively without close supervision
-Must be willing to learn and be trained
-Must be responsible and hardworking
-Preferably with experience in a hospital setting
